Opis zdjęcia
Cofnijmy się w czasie 4 miliardy lat. U zarania dziejów Księżyca, jego powierzchnię pokrywał rozległy ocean, obejmujący cały glob. Ocean ten nie przypominał jednak mokrych, błękitnych mórz, jakie my, Ziemianie znamy. Był to kocioł mętnej, stopionej i wrzącej magmy. Stopniowo magma pokrywała się skorupą, ale zderzające się z Księżycem asteroidy wybijały w niej otwory, przez które niczym przez ziejące rany magma wypływała ponownie na powierzchnię. W taki właśnie sposób powstały księżycowe morza. Dwa z nich widzimy na prezentowanej fotografii. Powyżej Morze Jasności (Mare Serenitatis), jedno z najpiękniejszych mórz księżycowych, otoczone od północy górami Kaukaz wznoszącymi się ponad przyległy teren na 6000 m. Wyraźnie widoczne są długie cienie rzucane przez wysokie szczyty oświetlane promieniami wschodzącego Słońca. Poniżej Morza Jasności położone jest Morze Spokoju (Mare Tranquillitatis), gdzie w okolicy grupy kraterów na zachodnim brzegu wylądował Apollo 11 i człowiek po raz pierwszy postawił stopę na powierzchni Księżyca. By uzmysłowić sobie skalę odwzorowania szczegółów na tym zdjęciu, warto wiedzieć, że samotny krater położony na Morzu Jasności - Bessel, ma 16 km średnicy. Fotografia ta powstała jako produkt uboczny moich wielogodzinnych obserwacji Księżyca 1 maja 2009 roku, gdy Srebrny Glob znajdował się w fazie 7 dni po nowiu. Parametry: teleskop BAJ systemu Newtona 400/2000 + Nikon D700, exp. 1/320 sek, ISO 200, 01.05.2009 21.32 CSE, Obserwatorium w Niedźwiadach. Polecam na PE w ciemnym pokoju i przy dobrej muzyce, może być np. Brian Eno, Michael Stearns, Redshift lub ktoś, kto potrafi zagrać w podobnym klimacie.
