ŚAVA lub MRTA znaczy trup. Celem tej asany jest naśladowanie zmarłego. Kiedy życie odeszło, ciało jest nieruchome i niemożliwe są żadne ruchy. Uczymy się relaksować pozostając przez jakiś czas w bezruchu i starając się, aby umysł, choć zupełnie świadomy, był całkowicie spokojny. To świadome rozluźnienie orzeźwia i odświeża zarówno ciało, jak i umysł. Jednak o wiele trudniej jest unieruchomić umysł niż ciało.
