Miasto Afyonkarahisar (w tłum. czarna twierdza opium), Turcja. Miasto i region słynie z uprawy bawełny oraz maku. Aż do lat 60-tych XX wieku Afyonkarahisar był także ważnym ośrodkiem produkcji opium — od którego pochodzi jego nazwa. Z powodu nacisków międzynarodowych zdecydowano się na zaprzestanie tej działalności i obecnie w mieście produkuje się jedynie pochodne opium, w tym morfinę, pod ścisłą państwową kontrolą. Region niesamowity, bardzo tajemniczy, nie zepsuty przez globalną turystykę. Okolice pełne frygijskich grobowców i skał bardzo podobnych do tych w Kapadocji.
