Kościół Wniebowzięcia NMP - dawna cerkiew - należy do późniejszych zabytków sztuki i architektury sakralnej w Łomży. Po I wojnie światowej cerkiew oddano w zarząd parafii katolickiej. Obecnie pod opieką Wyższego Seminarium Duchownego w Łomży. Cerkiew w stylu bizantyńskim o pięciu kopułach została wzniesiona w centrum Łomży w 1877 r. Kościół jest niewielki, eklektyczny o trzech nawach, z których największą jest nawa główna. Ściany i sufity pokryte były freskami i malowidłami, które zostały podczas remontów zamalowane. Od 1997 r. prowadzony jest remont i prace konserwatorskie w wyniku których stopniowo odkrywane są piękne freski i malowidła
