Bytča, Słowacja. Niespełna 12-tysięczne miasteczko leży nad Wagiem ok. 15 km. na zachód od Żyliny. To właśnie tu warzone jest jedno z najsłynniejszych piw słowackich - Popper. Dla mnie jako turysty najciekawsza jest neoromańska synagoga, niestety niedostępna dla pragnących obejrzeć wnętrza. Inne źródło określa jej styl jako romantyczno-mauretański. Jest w zatrważająco zaniedbanym stanie, ale można mieć nadzieję, że poprawa jest kwestią najbliższych lat. Wnoszę to po tym, co można zaobserwować w innych miejscach w miasteczku: bardzo schludnie odnowiony ryneczek - przez sam jego środek płynie widoczny na zdjęciu potok Petrovička, wiele dzieje się też w leżącym na drugim brzegu rzeki renesansowym kasztelu - jego wieża po prawej. Wieża po lewej należy do gotyckiego kościoła Wszystkich Świętych, później przebudowanego w stylu barokowym. Na jednej z jego ścian zewnętrznych zobaczyć można mozaikę "Ukrzyżowanie" będącą pamiątką po ostatniej przebudowie w latach 30-ych XXw.
