Wielki Obłok Magellana (LMC) i Mały Obłok Magellana (SMC) są galaktykami satelitarnymi Drogi Mlecznej znajdującymi się w odległościach ok. 160 i 200 tysięcy lat świetlnych. LMC jest galaktyką spiralną późnego typu, natomiast SMC galaktyką nieregularną. Poza tym jest to niecodzienny widok dla mieszkańców północnej półkuli:) Dodatkowo nad SMC znajduje się gromada kulista NGC 104.
