Jest to sprawką ptaka o nazwie Kookaburra (wymawiane: kukabara).Rosna one do rozmiarow okolo 45 cm dlugosci. Potrafia zyc do 20 lat. Zywia sie glownie owadami, robakami, żabami oraz malymi jaszczurkami. Jednak wyglodzona kookaburra potrafi zaatakowac i zjesc sporego weza lub malego ptaka! Jednak dla przecietnego australijskiego mieszczucha kookaburra to halasliwy sasiad z ogrodka. W "zielonych" dzielnicach, ktore stanowia ok. 90% miast australijskich, ptaki te zbieraja sie w grupki liczace kilka lub kilkanascie sztuk i okupuja kepy okolicznych drzew. Kazdego ranka zasiadaja na galeziach i daja taki koncert smiechu, ze mowy nie ma o zaspaniu i spoznieniu sie do pracy! :-))
