Bigfin reef squid (Common squid) (Sepiotheutis lessoniana). Niestety niewiele miałem czasu, żeby poczytać o tym zwierzątku. Tłumacząc z angielskiego powinna się nazywać Mątwa pospolita lub Mątwa rafowa. Mątwy są mięczakami z gromady głowonogów i czasami są mylone z bliskimi krewnymi - kałamarnicami z powodu podobnego wyglądu, tworzą jednak odrębny rząd. Podobnie do nieco dalszych krewnych - ośmiornic są dosyć inteligentne i mają zdolność zmiany barwy ciała w celu kamuflażu, ale również robią to dla wyrażenia "uczuć" (w trakcie zalotów) oraz w sytuacji zagrożenia (jako sygnał ostrzegawczy dla wrogów), itd. Są jednocześnie ciekawskie, jak i dosyć płochliwe - łatwo je zaciekawić, ale utrzymują spory dystans, stąd niełatwo o dobre ujęcie. Zrobione 22.05.2009, podczas nurkowania nocnego na jednej z raf w okolicach Marsa Alam, Egipt. EOS 5D + 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM + 2xIkelite DS125 w TTL. Ustawienia: f/10.0, 1/100, ISO 100. Obróbka: przycięcie do proporcji jaką stosuję, przeskalowanie i korekcyjne podostrzenie.
