Morąg, rok 1961. --- Pierwsze - po ponad dwudziestu latach spotkanie dwóch braci (z dziesięciorga rodzeństwa Popielów). Ten pan w okularach i jasnym swetrze to Marian Popiel (1906-1974), brat pana w ciemnej marynarce - Hipolita Popiela (1901-1964). Po agresji rosyjskiej w 1939 roku Marian został - przypadkowo - aresztowany przez Rosjan, wywieziony na wschód, a potem - wraz z armią Andersa trafił do Angli. Tam - po wojnie - ożenił się z panią w sukni w grochy (Maud Popiel) :)). Hipolit, po kampanii wrześniowej wrócił (przez "zieloną granicę") na tereny objęte okupacją radziecką - do Żony (pani z lewej strony - leżąca na kocu, Helena Popielowa, z domu Rudeńska (1904-1963)) i dzieci (jedna z córek odwrócona, patrzy na Hipolita), udało Mu się przetrwać - bez wywiezienia okres okupacji radzieckiej i niemieckiej - wcielony do Wojska Polskiego dotarł do Berlina i na Łużyce. Ze szpitala wojskowego pod Budziszynem wrócił do przesiedlonej z Kresów Żony i dzieci - do Morąga. Jak napisałem na wstępie - fotografia z pierwszej - po wojnie - wizyty Mariana i Maud w Polsce; skan z odbitki.
