Zespół pałacowy w Pawłowicach jest jednym z przykładów klasycystycznej rezydencji w Polsce. Tworzy wydłużenia pałacowo - ogrodowe ułożone wzdłuż osi pn.wsch. - pd.zach. Centrum stanowi okazały pałac wraz z dwiema identycznymi oficynami połączonymi z nimi ćwierćkolistymi galeriami, które otaczają obszerny dziedziniec przed frontem pałacu. Do dziedzińca prowadzi aleja z usytuowanymi po obu stronach ciągami budynków administracyjno - gospodarczych. Całość założenia dopełnia i zamyka od strony pd. - zach. park. Park ma układ regularny, z wielkim parterem w kształcie podkowy i odchodzącymi od niego promieniście dwoma szpalerami grabowymi podkreślającymi osiowość założenia. Budowę pałacu rozpoczęto w 1779 r., a prace we wnętrzach zakończono w 1792 r. Projekt architektoniczny na zlecenie hrabiego Maksymiliana Mielżyńskiego (1738 - 1799) wykonał Carl Gotthard Langhans z Wrocławia, a projekt wnętrz Johann Christian Kamsetzer architekt króla polskiego Stanisława Augusta Poniatowskiego. Prace rzeźbiarskie wykonali kamieniarze ze Śląska pod kierunkiem Waclava Bahma z Moraw, wykształconego w Akademii Wiedeńskiej. Prace sztukatorskie wewnątrz pałacu wykonali Włosi: Giuseppe Amadio, Giuseppe Bargli i Margani. Pałac i dobra ziemskie były własnością rodu Mielżyńskich do 1939 roku. Pałac w Pawłowicach jest unikalnym przykładem twórczości tych wybitnych architektów i nadal zadziwia swą wyjątkową klasą artystyczną.
