Nr. 437. Dziś pokazuję kościół św. Piotra i Pawła w Krakowie - jest to pierwsza budowla architektury barokowej w tym mieście. Ufundowana została dla jezuitów przez króla Zygmunta III Wazę. Plan kościoła wykonał prawdopodobnie Giovanni de Rossis, plan ten był realizowany od 1597 roku - najpierw przez Józefa Britiusa, a następnie modyfikowany przez Giovanniego Marię Bernardoniego. Ostateczny kształt kościołowi nadał w latach 1605-1619 Giovanni Trevano i to on jest autorem fasady, kopuły i wystroju wnętrza. Dwukondygnacyjna fasada z dolomitu przypomina rzymski kościół św. Zuzanny Carla Maderny, ale są w niej też echa fasady głównego kościoła jezuickiego Il Gesù w Rzymie Główny temat kadru - ogrodzenie placu kościelnego z rzeźbami apostołów zostało zaprojektowane przez Kacpra Bażankę, a wykonane w roku 1722 przez Dawida Heela z wapienia pińczowskiego. Dziś, na miejscu XVIII-wiecznych, bardzo zniszczonych oryginałów, znajdują się współczesne kopie (także z wapienia pińczowskiego), wykonane przez Kazimierza Jęczmyka.
