Niemirów to dawne miasto położone nad Bugiem, tuż przy granicy z Białorusią. O upadku miasta przesądziła okupacja sowiecka lat 1939 - 1941, gdy jako położone w całości w strefie nadgranicznej ZSRR zostało rozebrane, a mieszkańcy wysiedleni do prowizorycznych siedzib. Spowodowało to utratę praw miejskich po II wojnie światowej. O dawnej, miejskiej przeszłości Niemirowa świadczy jedynie zachowany układ urbanistyczny z rynkiem - zamienionym w park - i wychodzącymi z niego uliczkami oraz kościół zbudowany w latach 1780 - 1790, fundacji Michała Czartoryskiego, w 1823 r.przebudowany w rzadko spotykanym w architekturze sakralnej stylu empire, który szczęśliwie ocalał z okupacji sowieckiej i stanowi dziś cenną pamiątkę świetności Niemirowa.
