NA POCZĄTEK INFORMACJA DLA NIEWTAJEMNICZONYCH. DNO TO NIEZUPEŁNIE DNO. JEST TO SKRÓT DZIAŁU W PLFOTO - DUŻO NIEZŁYCH OBRAZKÓW........... Z Wikipedii: W okresie wojny przebywał z rodzicami na zesłaniu w położonej na dalekiej Północy w obrębie ZSRR republice Komi, z której wspomnienia zawarł w książce Droga do Niury (1964) oraz w pierwszym rozdziale wydanej w 1966 książki Gruby. W 1951 ukończył III LO we Wrocławiu. Ukończył filologię rosyjską na UW. Debiutował w 1956 na łamach tygodnika Przegląd Kulturalny jako prozaik. W 1959 Jerzy Jarocki wystawił w Teatrze Śląskim im. Wyspiańskiego w Katowicach jego sztukę Fałszerz i jego córka, napisaną wspólnie z Eugeniuszem Kabatcem. W latach 1954-1957 związany z redakcją Po prostu. Od 1958 do 1961 pracował jako reportażysta w prestiżowym tygodniku Świat,wraz z Lucjanem Wolanowskim, Wiesławem Górnickim, Aleksandrem Ziemnym, Marianem Brandysem i Kazimierzem Dziewanowskim, z którym opublikował wspólnie tom reportaży ze ZSRR pt. Pięć tysięcy kilometrów przyszłości (wyd. Iskry, 1961). W latach 1969&-1972 przebywał w USA jako wykładowca w Columbia University oraz w Hunter College. W latach 1982-1984 redaktor tygodnika Tu i teraz. Od 1978 do 1994 prezes polskiej sekcji IBBY - Światowej Rady Książki dla Młodych. W latach 70-tych wybrany wiceprezesem warszawskiego Związku Literatów Polskich. W latach 1991-1998 redaktor naczelny tygodnika Skandale, później Nowe Skandale i Bez Pardonu. Jest prezesem zarządu Fundacji Korczakowskiej Odrodzenie, mającej na celu zbudowanie w Polsce międzynarodowej wioski dziecięcej. Mieszka i tworzy w Warszawie. W latach 1967-1990 członek PZPR Część książek z cyklu Tropiciele złoczyńców (o przygodach Marty Patton) wydał pod pseudonimem "Alex Hunter". ... Zdjęcie zrobione w domu pisarza, l. 80.
