Wylot "słynnego" żlebu Żandarmerii. Lawiny schodzące (z reguły przed południem i raczej wiosną) z Opalonego właśnie tym żlebem, należą do największych w polskiej części Tatr. Na całym odcinku nie ma drzew, jedynie kosówka porasta lawinisko. Czoło lawiny potrafi sięgnąć aż do Rybiego Potoku (na fotografii - po prawej w dole - niewidoczny). O przekraczaniu tego żlebu opowiada p. Łapińska we wspomnieniach zacytowanych przez Rewika pod poprzednią fotografią (_http://plfoto.com/1774850/zdjecie.html_). W zimie zalecane jest obchodzenie widocznego na fotografii fragmentu drogi osobnym szlakiem, nad potokiem, poniżej zasięgu lawin. Jak widać - dopóki lawiny nie schodzą i nie zasypują przejścia i przejazdu - mało kto z obejścia korzysta. Nawet przy lawinowej czwórce.
