Klasztor Świętego Mikołaja Odpoczywającego został zbudowany w ostatnich latach XV w. prawdopodobnie na ruinach starego. Oraniczona powierzchnia skał zmusiła budowniczych do wybudowania piętrowego budynku. Na pierwszym piętrze znajdują się kościół i refektarz mnichów. Na drugim piętrze znajdują się cele mnichów. Kościół rozpoczęto budować kilka lat wcześniej przed rokiem 1510. Była to fundacja metropolity z Larisy - Dionizjosa I świętobliwego mnicha Nikanora z Kalambaki. Kościół jest bardzo wąski i długi, południową ścianę stanowią skały. Nawa jest obszerna , wpada dużo światła. Ze starych źródeł pisanych dowiadujemy się, że znajdowało się 10 cel mnichów i cela przeora. Dekorowanie kościoła jak mówi jeden napis, zakończono w 1527 r. Dekoracje wykonał mnich Theofanis Strelidzas, Tupiklin Bathias z Krety. Był to wybitny malarz fresków, który zdobił freskami nie tylko ten klasztor, ale również w Halkidiki i w Świętych Górach.
