Oddalając sie od głównego tematu serii zdałem sobie sprawę, że nie pokazałem najwyższej "prawdziwej", tzn. nie będącej wulkanem, góry Sewennów - Mont Lozere. Oto ona, okazałe 1702 m n.p. Méditerranée, z której szczęśliwcy potrafili ponoć dostrzec białe żagle w delcie Rodanu. Książka, o której tyle się tu mówiło, zawiera piękny opis zejścia z tej góry w dolinę w księzycową noc, gdy długie, widmowe cienie wędrującego Stevensona i jego poczciwej ośliczki, Modestyny, kładą się przed nimi na białej pylistej drodze ku końcowi wyprawy.
