Pałac rozbudowany w latach 1691 - 1697 na zlecenie Stefana Mikołaja Branickiego, przekształcony w latach 1720 - 1772 w rezydencję magnacką przez Jana Klemensa Branickiego. Po śmierci hetmana Branickiego, spadkobiercy sprzedali rezydencję królowi pruskiemu. W okresie zaboru rosyjskiego Pałac został zdewastowany. Po pierwszej wojnie światowej Pałac był siedzibą Urzędu Wojewódzkiego i rezydencją wojewody. W czasie II wojny światowej prawie doszczętnie zburzony, odbudowany w latach 1946 - 1960. Obecnie ma tu siedzibę Akademia Medyczna w Białymstoku. Główny korpus pałacu dwupiętrowy, po bokach parterowy, łączący się w podkowę z piętrowymi skrzydłami.
