Drugie co do wielkości miasto na Słowacji. Leży na wschodzie, 90 km od granicy z Polską; po przejechaniu kolejnych 20 jesteś już na Węgrzech; trasa na Miszkolc i Eger. Zdjęcie zrobione na ulicy, nomen omen, Głównej (Hlavná ulica). Na pierwszym planie słup morowy Marii Panny z lat 1720-1723 a w tle po lewej Teatr Pańswowy (Štátne divadlo) w stylu eklektycznym, neobarokowym, z 1899 roku. Środkiem ulicy płynie... elegancki rynsztok zasilany wodą prosto z miejskiego wodociągu; to dla przypomnienia czasów średniowiecza. Najpiękniejsze kryje się nieco dalej, za budynkiem teatru: uroczy skwer z "grającą" fontanną, podświetlaną wieczorami, kurantami wygrywającymi regularnie znane melodie (np. Yesterday). Tuż obok oblegana cukiernia z b. dobrymi i kusząco tanimi lodami i innymi deserami. A wszystko to w cieniu przepięknej gotyckiej katedry św. Elżbiety; jej otoczenie i elewacja pięknieją z dnia na dzień w rytm przeprowadzanych prac remontowych. Wśród licznych ciekawostek jest i taka, że to leżąca najdalej na wschód katedra zachodniego typu w Europie.
