Miasteczko leży zaledwie 7 kilometrów na północ od Kroměžíža.Turystę przyciągnąć tu może przedstawiony na zdjęciu dwupiętrowy pałacyk myśliwski, postawiony około 1615 roku w stylu renesansowym na miejscu dawnej twierdzy, znacząco rozbudowany i podwyższony na samym początku XVIIIw. - i w takim stanie dochowany do dnia dzisiejszego. Przynajmniej z zewnątrz, bo we wnętrzach w połowie XIXw. przeprowadzono prace adaptacyjne w duchu romantyzmu. Stąd też dziś szczególną uwagę zwraca tam bogata snycerka (np. strop w jednej z sal) czy sala rycerska ze zbiorami "z epoki". Generalnie, zwiedzanie wnętrz nie robi szczególnego wrażenia - zamek został ogołocony z cennego wyposażenia za rządów komunistycznych - była tu siedziba nadleśnictwa, szkolna stołówka, stajnie zamieniono na chlewy... mieszkańcom miasteczka jakoś udało się ocalić jedynie wyposażenie 2 sal. Foldery reklamowe eksponują, u mnie częściowo zasłoniętą, wysoką wieżę. Zaskakująco smukła przy brylastym jednoskrzydłowym korpusie budowli zdaje się jeszcze wyższa i zastąpiła znacznie niższą, z cebulastym hełmem. Jednocześnie jest ona jedyną istotną zmianą w wyglądzie zewnętrznym budowli wobec stanu z XVIIIw., gdyż dobudowana została po pożarze dachu w 1892r. Niestety, miasteczko nie ma do zaoferowania wiele więcej by skłonić do dłuższego zatrzymania się. Warto pospacerować nad stawami rybnymi, które jeszcze kilkadziesiąt lat temu były miejscem pielgrzymek botaników ze względu na b. bogatą florę - dziś już znacznie zubożoną - ale nawet pałacowy przewodnik poświęca dłuższą chwilę na opowieść o Trapa natans (kotewka, orzech wodny) i prezentuje kilka zasuszonych owoców tej ginącej rośliny niczym cenne wykopaliska archeologiczne. Zajrzeć można też do kościoła św. Julii. Niezabliźnioną raną po powodzi z 1997 roku jest nieodbudowane kąpielisko i sanatorium przy źródle wód leczniczych. Pozostaje jedynie miejski basen...
